curly is back

Soooo because my hormones and thyroid are all out of whack, my hair is literally changing. It has been very dry for some time now and will not grow. I do everything possible to get more moisture in my hair: wash it every two days, hot oil treatments, and I've even stopped straightening it completely. So today I put some curl gel in it and wham it was back to curly! It still looks dry but hopefully not using the straightner for awhile will help it! I love my kiddos reaction because it blows them away that my hair looks so different. So my picture for today is my attempt to capture my curly hair!

cheese please

I love my husband, and I've decided that we are so great together because we are both children at heart! He knows how much I love to sit in the children's section at the bookstore and how going shopping is like a kid in the candy store. Now he does not appreciate these things like I do, but one thing that sets him apart is that he eats like a child. For dinner he made an entire thing of macaroni and ate the entire thing. I just had a to take a picture because its what I love about him! He loves macaroni, pizza, and chicken nuggets, just like a kid!

Kids Footlocker

So I have been looking and looking for shoes for quite some time. I have an exremely narrow foot and most shoe companies do not make narrow shoes. The salesman told me today its because it cost thousands of dollars to make narrow. I was like seriously- you have got to be joking. Well I decided to take my chances in the kids section. Much to my surprise those shoes are made more narrow anyway. So I was finally able to find a new athletic shoe to keep up with my insanity workouts! I am very excited to try it out tomorrow. I couldn't decide between the lime green and the pink, but I went with tradition and chose the pink (I have 5 pairs of pink/gray athletic shoes for different occasions). So my picture for today is of my awesome new shoes that are super comfortable!

Movie night

So my picture for Friday January 28th is of my wonderful husband. My mom and sister came over to watch a chick flick and have pizza and Rene was a total pain. He wouldn't stop talking during the movie and we were getting very annoyed. So when he went outside with the dogs we locked him out so we could finish the rest of the movie. He didn't know we had locked the door until he came back 15 minutes later and was knocking. We just ignored him- minus the picture I took of him locked outside!

4 schnauzers

My picture for Thursday January 27th is of four beautiful schnauzers. My sister-in-law and her new husband had to make the journey to St. Louis, Missouri for her new job on Thursday and they decided to stop at our house for the night to make the drive a little bit shorter. So we spent the night listening to four gal pups barking, whining, and having fun with each other. It is so crazy because they all have different personalities, which is why they probably growl at each other every now and then. But they are still pretty darn cute :)

I love snow

So my dad texted me that it was snowing like crazy outside. I knew that he could not mean here, since it was like 70 degrees in January today. I really wish it would snow. I love the snow. But no my dad is on business in Baltimore and they are having a massive snow storm. I secretly wished I had gone with him on this trip just to see the snow. I know I get major anxiety even thinking about driving in snow, but it is so pretty that I can't help but wish it would snow. I would be happy even if we didn't have a snow day, if it would just snow a lot one day a year! So my picture for today is of the outside of my dad's hotel room. I snapped it from my ipad).

Harley

My picture for January 25th is of my sister's dog, Harley. Sarah didn't specify how she wanted her cut and they cut her like a schnauzer and she looks so dang cute. Now all three dogs look like Schnauzers!

Sick people all around

So today 8 out of my 20 children were out sick. All from the flu and one with strep. Geez.......and then I come home to a husband who is also sick. He doesn't think he has the flu, but ya never know. I know a lot of people pass the flu off as not serious but it can be. I just read in the Texas Tech paper about a professor, who was 30 years old. She wasn't feeling well and never went to the doctor. Well she finally went and she had the flu, and she died from not taking any meds. So far they have not been able to find another known cause except for the flu. So it can be really serious if not treated. I have had the flu once before and it was awful. Therefore, I do not plan on getting it again. So my picture today is of my sick husband laying down with the two puppies:)

Miss me

So I purchased my first pair of Miss Me jeans today....and yes I made my husband take a picture of my behind so I could make it my picture for today! I am in love with these jeans. They are made to fit a little bit more snug than I am used to, but I love them regardless! I would have never purchased these for myself, but when I go shopping with my mom things just kind of happen. My mom is in need of a new pair of boots and I kindly agreed to go with her. We have been looking for awhile, but today we decided to go look in downtown Grapevine. Though we did find a couple of pairs of boots that she liked, we didn't find the perfect pair. Unfortunatly we both found a pair of Miss Me jeans that fit us just right. We were standing in the dressing room and she looks at me and says "I'm pretty sure we are going to have to buy our Valentine's presents for ourselves today." The next thing I know she is paying and we are out of there! This is why I love my mom. I think a lot of people are intimidated by her, but she is such a push-over and she knows it! She just can't help it! Thanks to her and her spending ways, I was also able to finally find not one, but three pairs of shoes for school! So now that I've spent my monthly budget in one day, I'm going to have to be more resourceful this month!! Well toodles :)

337 days until Christmas

So today I introduced my friend, Hannah, to the wonderful world of scrapbooking/crafting. I brought her to the Little Blue House where she made a really cute family recipe book for her fiance! She did amazing on her first time. She finished before they closed with time to spare, and she didn't need my help at all besides what supplies were what. I think she rather enjoyed herself and will be accompanying me to many other creative buffets!

I am still and always will be in the Christmas spirit, which I why I chose to make a Christmas home decor craft. This is by far one of the coolest things I have made! It is a countdown to Christmas. I have purchased chalk so that on the black part of the wood, I can erase the number that appears. Of course it changes everyday that we get closer and closer to Christmas. At first I thought I would put this away and get it back out around November of this year. But no, I think I am going to hang it out and leave it out and change the number everyday. I don't care what all you haters out there say- I absolutely LOVE Christmas and just thinking about it makes me giddy! So my two pictures for today are of my friend Hannah and her new supplies and my awesome project that I had so much fun making!

My baby

Pic for January 21st. My little Chloegirl still loves to come and lay by her momma. After running around the backyard for 2 hours, and I literally mean running, she was ready for bed! So she came and curled up above my head on the couch.

Big moon

Pic for Jan 20th- The brightest moon I have ever seen :)

love her

So my day today was pretty much what I expected....I felt miserable and my kids helped to remind me of how miserable I felt. I love them to death and they tried, but they were overly excited to see me, which made for quite a rowdy day. But I was glad to come home and get in my pajamas. After I let my dogs out to play, I rented a movie on Netflix (Beauty and a briefcase). I've seen the comercials for this movie, but never rented it because Rene said HE wouldn't like it. But I was tired and decided a chick-flick was what I needed. I think my favorite thing about this movie is Hilary Duff. I love that she has meat on her bones and isn't afraid to show it! The only thing I cannot stand about myself is my fat arms. I work at them, but its like they won't get thin. When I lost all that weight before my wedding, my arms were tiny, tiny. But now I will admit it, I like food a little bit more. But after watching Hilary Duff I feel so much better about myself. She has big arms like me, and she looks great! I just need to keep telling myself that I can't be perfect and I've just got to flaunt what I do have! So there was my soapbox for today....I'm sure there will be more to come :)

and again

Once again I awoke this morning quite sick. But this time my husband was sick right with me. So we have spent the entire day laying on the couch, only getting up to let the dogs out. I was able to eat a little bit of soup, though I couldn't finish it. Hopefully I will have lost 5 lbs. by tomorrow since I have not eaten anything in two whole days! As soon as I'm feeling 100% its back to working out. My picture for today is of the soup, crackers, and 7up that my husband so kindly purchased for me!

Being sick is no fun

I woke up Monday morning feeling sick to my stomach. This quickly escalated and I had to call in sick for the day. I hate throwing up more than anything in the world, and I spent the majority of my day doing just that. This was the first time in a long time that I did not eat a single thing the entire day. I could barely even keep water down without getting sick. My wonderful sister brought me a Sprite Zero. I couldn't keep this down very well either, but I still made it the picture of the day for January 17th. I also haven't slept that much in probably forever. I slept most of the day and feel asleep when Rene got home. I went to bed at 8 oclock and didn't wake up again until my alarm went off to get ready for work.

singing in the rain

My picture for Sunday January 16th is of the rain hitting the windshield. It rained all the way home from San Antonio. We kept checking the radar and hoping that it would let up, but it never did. The rain was coming down so hard, Rene had to drive extra slow just to see the road. But we did make it home safely!

Wedding Weekend

Due to being out of town I was not able to post my picture for Friday January 14th or the 15th. My picture for the 14th is of my brother-in-law and I at the rehearsal dinner for Erin! Unfortunately the lighting was bad and the picture did not come out very well! Due to work, I was not able to drive up with Rene so my sister and I flew in and drove to the rehearsal. My father-in-law left his F350 truck at the airport for me to drive. This was probably not a good idea. I could barely get into the truck and then I drove halfway there without my lights on...did I mention it was foggy and raining the entire time. After several honks, I finally figured out that my lights were not on . We did successfully make it to the rehearsal!

My picture for the 15th is of the bride and I are her wedding. Erin and Brad had a beautiful wedding, and I was so honored to be a part of the wedding party. Saturday morning Erin surprised all of the bridesmaides with massages. After that we spent the morning doing hair, makeup and pictures. We then proceeded to the church in the rain, but that didn't stop the ceremony. At the reception I was able to catch up with many of the Aelvoet family, which I very much enjoyed! We finally made it to the hotel around 12:30. After much chatting and dancing, I was finally able to fall quickly asleep! Congratulations to Erin and Brad! They put on a beautiful wedding and I am so excited to welcome Brad to the family!

clickers

Today we attended a training on Outlook and how to use the clickers for our smartboards. These little machines are pretty cool, but I don't think there is a way they would ever work in my class. My kids would destroy those little toys. I do trust them, but they are still working on learning how to take care of books, so I don't think an expensive peice of equipment would be good for them. But who knows maybe in the future. But my team and I had a good time playing with them! Today my picture is of the clicker I used for the test!

I love my schnauzers

So I have to go out of town this weekend for my sister-in-law's wedding! I am super excited about this wedding, but I'm very sad about leaving my dogs behind. My dogs are part of my family and being away from them stresses me out. A good friend of ours is going to house sit our house so I know they will be well taken care of, but I know that I will still miss them. I know I'm crazy that I'm this attached to my dogs, but I can't help it. So I took a picture of the sign that I bought at craft fair this year. This sign hangs over all three of the dog cages and it fits this room perfectly!

I can do it all

My picture for today, January 11th, is of a sign I saw at my gym. I have been going to lifetime for about 4 years now, and I have never seen anything as inspiring as this sign. It is about doing all the things you want to do and not waiting to do them. That is kind of why I made my list of 25 things to do because there is no better time to do them besides right now since I'm not bogged down with children! I know I can't do everything I WANT to do because of money, but I will make sure that I do more than half before I die. So I had a boost of motiviation from this sign and signed up for the Cowtown and the mini-tri at my gym!

football is over

My picture for yesterday January 10th is of the national championship, which was watched on my tv. Even though they weren't really teams that I normally watch, I still love to watch football. And I'm incredibly sad that college football is over until the fall. That is probably why I don't really like the spring semester because there is no football to watch on Saturdays and the days are just dull. So I decided to pick a team to go for last night, and I chose the Auburn Tigers. My husband went for the ducks, so we made a bet. If the Tigers won, I got a 20 minute massage, and if the ducks won, I had to make his lunch for a month. Well I defintely cashed in on my massage when he got home from work today!

Snow

So it snowed today!!!! We so rarely get snow that it is almost like magic. I love watching children's faces when they see snow and it makes almost everybody happy because it can be so beautiful! Sadie had her first snow experience today. She wasn't a big fan, but we forced her to go outside. I was able to get out into the weather and get some much needed shopping done, and I ended my day at the movies with my mom and sister. We saw, Country Strong, which is a good movie but very sad. I loved the music though and Gwenth Paltrow did a great job!

The Red Pyramid

So today I finished the second of the 25 books I have to read before I turn 26. I read the Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan (sp?). I am a huge fan of the Percy Jackson series, so I had to read this newest as well. I did not like it as much as the Percy Jackson books, but it still had me on the edge of my toes waiting to find out what happened. It was basically the same thing as the Jackson series except that it was about the Egyptian Gods. I think I am so interested in these books because I love all of the magical and historical references. If you love Harry Potter and you are looking for something along those lines, this is an author I would recommend reading!

A good friend and a glass of wine

So my picture for today is of two of the things I needed after this long week! My favorite bottle of wine and my little puppy Sadie! I came home and put on my pajamas and had a little drink of my wine and played with Miss Sadie. The first week back after the break is exhausting. I was stayed at school until almost five trying to get ready for my sub that I have on Monday, and I still didn't finish getting ready. So I will have to make another trip back up to school this weekend. But I decided to come home and relax and watch the LSU vs. ATM game. Well good night all and GEAUX TIGERS!

it's my life

So since I forgot about posting my picture for yesterday I'm going to include it in this post. My picture for yesterday is one of the songs we sing in my class. I'm such a nerd, but I love it when we introduce word families. My kids catch onto the songs so quickly, and then I get them in my head all day. The picture for Wednesday January 5th is of the Rat-a-tat song.

My picture for today is of my husband's attempt at working out. He has this machine he uses called a bowflex. He started working out on it and I started cracking up laughing because he looked so ridiculous. I wasn't trying to be rude, but my hubby is extremely skinny and he eats whatever he wants to and NEVER and I mean NEVER works out. So watching him struggle with those weights was quite comical. He claims he is going to start working out like every other week, but it happens maybe once a six months- so we shall see how long this lasts!

a big mess

I absolutely LOVE my job, but it makes me into something that I normally am not....and that is a messy person. I get stacks and stacks of papers that pile up. In kindergarten you don't really grade things, but I want to look at all of them to see their progress, so I collect almost everything, and then I collect things for my kiddos scrapbooks, and then all of the piles start to build up around my desk. Then I decide to take things home to look at them while I watch my favorite tv shows. Well today I had a big mess to take home, and when I say big it took my entire front seat of my car. So I brought all of this stuff home, and what happened.....didn't even touch it. I went to kickboxing and came home and watched Glee and didn't move a muscle....but it will all be there tomorrow right. This is why I tell my husband on a daily basis that I need a new car. I have a 2-door honda civic and it just rather small. I can barely get things from the back seat without basically having to climb back there. But until we win the lottery or he gets a huge raise, i'm stuck with my little honda. At least it gets great gas mileage and should last me like 300,000 miles or more! So my picture for today is of my front seat on the way home.....

I'm not a fan of xbox

So the first day back to work was great! My kids were pretty tired, therefore they were quiet most of the day. It almost felt like the whole day was a blur. I had so much explaining to do, yet they didn't resist me too much. I came home and did my first insanity workout with Hannah. Note to self- don't do a total conditioning class and then an insanity workout back to back. Both of our legs were killing us, and now I have a headache. So I think I will take a day off from the insanity workout and do kickboxing instead! If you need a really tough workout, this is it! Well my picture today comes from my biggest frustration when I am at home. I love my husband to death and would do almost anything for him, but he has one flaw. He is obsessed with xbox. He plays on that thing like 3 hours a night, and then if its Saturday he will play on it for even longer. I just don't get what the big deal is with it, but he absolutely loves to play it. So I took a picture of him in a Call of Duty trance, he looks kind of funny because he is putting lots of concentration into this game.....now my challenge- to pry him off so I can watch a normal tv show!

Back to work

Sooo my picture today is of my lesson plan book. I spent most of my day cleaning my classroom and finalizing my lesson plans for the week. I am trying something new in my room this semester, called the daily five. I know my kids pretty well, and I'm not 100% sure this is going to work with them this year, but I'm going to give it a shot. And if it doesn't work like I want it to, I will go back to what I have originally done, and then try again next year. It's funny, how each class can be so different in so many different ways. Many of the things I did last year, don't fit this year, and I'm sure it will be the complete opposite next year! But that is the fun in kindergarten: it's always different and you get to research and try new things for almost every lesson. Well today was pretty exhausting, but I know tomorrow will be even more exhausting so I am off to bed, so I will be well rested for my kiddos tomorrow!

Insanity

My picture for yesterday, December 31st is me infront of the lit tree at Copeland's in Southlake. Rene and I and some family and friends went there for a great dinner to celebrate New Year's Eve. Then we ended the night at my parents with wine, music, and some games!

My picture today is of the workout program I purchased off of craigslist. I have been wanting to get the insanity workout for some time, but it is so expensive. I found someone selling it for like 1/4th of the price. I'm going to try it out on Monday and see how it goes. I think I will be able to handle the workouts, but the eating 5 meals a day thing is just not going to happen. I just don't have enough time in my day to do that or enough hunger....so we'll see!
